What I’m Building Here

Thanks for stopping by this part of the site. In the big scheme of things, this might be the most important section to me. What am I hoping to accomplish here? It’s a question worth asking about a lot of things in life. So why did I start this chapter? Simple: I love nursing and medicine. After 25 years of ups, downs, challenges, and lessons, I can’t imagine a more rewarding path.

A short-term goal? Help others get where I am now. A bigger goal? To reach nurses, almost-nurses, and anyone who needs encouragement, guidance, or a place to share what matters to them.

Supporting New Nurses:

I want to be available for questions and real conversations. As the blog grows, my hope is that the stories and lessons here become little nuggets of wisdom someone can tap into — maybe sparking a “How did you get through this?” moment that leads to connection and encouragement.

Building a Community:

I believe nursing is better when we share it — the wins, the struggles, the lessons, and even the laughs that keep us going on long shifts. My goal is to create a space where nurses, students, and anyone curious about this life can connect. I want this site to feel like a break room without walls — a place where you can trade stories, ask questions, and know you’re not alone in the journey.

Learning and Growing Together:

Nursing never stands still, and neither should we. I want to keep exploring new ideas, roles, and opportunities — from bedside skills to remote nursing to ways we can care for ourselves while caring for others. If what I learn helps someone else take their next step with confidence, that’s a win for all of us.
